City Council

Council Structure

The City Council is a group made up of:

  • The Mayor

  • Deputy Mayors

  • A Representative from Police Leadership

  • A Representative from EMS Leadership

  • The runner up for Mayor

  • Up to 3 Appointed Council Members (see below for more info)

Council Purpose

The Council provides an additional check for some of the larger changes proposed by the Mayor. State Government may also propose larger changes to the city through the council and take feedback for implementation.

The Council also aims to represent many areas of the city and provide a platform for discussion and ideas about how to tackle current challenges of the City.

Appointed Council Members

You may appoint up to 3 additional council members. The number of additional members is determined by the amount of Deputy Mayors you have. For each Deputy Mayor you may appoint an additional councillor.

To appoint additional council members, you are required have a majority vote (>50%) in the council.

The Appointed Councillors can be from any walk of life. We recommend for a healthy discourse to have your council have a diverse range of people. Too many cops may create a Police state and too many Criminals may bring upon lawlessness.

Council Meetings

In order to pass Acts you will need to hold a council meeting. For a council meeting to be valid it needs to have attendance of at least 1/2 of the council.
